Swine Niche Pork Producer Conference Offered

BRYAN-MONTPELIER, Ohio -- Pork producers interested in non-traditional pork markets have the opportunity to attend the Swine Niche Pork Producer Conference Jan. 23 at the Ramada Conference Center in Bryan-Montpelier, Ohio.

Ohio State University Extension is partnering with Michigan State University Extension and the National Pork Board to provide pork producers with scientific-based information on niche markets and customer-valued products. The conference will begin at 9:00 a.m.

Topics of discussion during the conference include consumer trends and buying potential, supply systems, producer marketing associations, grant availability, production costs associated with alternative feeding systems, marketing a niche product, and niche pork production. Participants will also hear from niche pork producers on how they develop and market their product.
