WOOSTER, Ohio – Lists of the annuals and perennials to be sold at Secrest Arboretum’s May 7 Plant Discovery Day are now posted on the arboretum’s website, http://secrest.osu.edu/. Click on the “18th Annual Plant Discovery Day” heading under “Upcoming Events.”
Featured are about 90 different kinds of annuals, including lantanas, ipomoeas, angelonias and argyranthemums, and more than 170 types of perennials, such as echinaceas, platycodons and convallarias.
Lists of the trees, shrubs and herbs to be offered will be posted on the same website soon.
The event is a plant and art sale whose proceeds benefit the arboretum, including its tornado renewal fund. A tornado last fall leveled about 30 of the arboretum’s 120 acres, with replanting efforts still continuing.
Hours are 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Admission is free and open to the public.
The arboretum is part of Ohio State University’s Ohio Agricultural Research and Development Center, 1680 Madison Ave., Wooster.
