OSU Extension Offers Landscape Design Program

DELAWARE, Ohio -- Ohio State University Extension will be offering a program on the basics of landscape design on Oct. 11.

"Residential Landscaping in 3Ds" will be held from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. at the Rutherford Hayes Services Building in Delaware, Ohio. Registration is $45, which includes handouts, lunch, breaks and a certificate of completion. Registration deadline is Oct. 8. Continuing credits in the Ohio Certified Nursery Technician Program and the Ohio Master Gardener Volunteer Program will be offered at the completion of the program.

The program is designed for homeowners, landscape designers, garden center employees, landscape maintenance professionals, and Master Gardeners.

Topics of discussion include the benefits of a master landscape design, the landscape design process, landscape design case studies, installing and maintaining a woody landscape, and incorporating hardscapes into the landscape.

Speakers include Amy Dutt, of Dreamscapes Natural and Native Landscapes and Urban Wild landscape designer and project manager; Gary Gao, an OSU Extension horticulturist; and Phil Keller, owner of Phillip Keller Landscapes.
