PIKETON, Ohio -- Ohio State University Extension will offer a beginning beekeeping workshop for those interested in a beekeeping operation and to discuss the state of bee populations.
The event will take place on Feb. 21 at 6 p.m. at OSU South Centers at Piketon. The cost is $5 for adults and free for those 18 and under. This is the first workshop being offered through OSU South Center's Third Thursday Horticulture Business Training series.
The workshop is for the novice who is thinking about keeping bees, whether for his/her own interest, starting a sideline business or growing into a commercial operation. Topics to be covered include required equipment, state regulations, and the latest observations on the collapsing bee populations.
