June 29, 2012

VAN WERT, Ohio -- Buckeye Acres Farm will host the 2012 Ohio Sheep Day, which offers visitors the opportunity to see a successful sheep farming operation and receive ideas about nutrition, management systems and other areas of sheep production.

The field day will be held July 14 from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at 12282 Harrison-Willshire Road, Van Wert.

Sheep Day will focus on increasing and improving the profitability of sheep operations, said Roger A. High an Ohio State University Extension sheep specialist and the executive director of the Ohio Sheep Improvement Association. Daryl Clark, vice president of the organization and a retired OSU Extension expert, will be the keynote speaker. The event will also feature a trade show with vendors selling equipment and supplies.

Registration is $10 for Ohio Sheep Improvement Association members and $20 for non-members. A luncheon featuring lamb is included in the registration. No preregistration is necessary.
