LONDON, Ohio -- Music, food, and a little rest and relaxation will be the order of each day at Utzinger Garden during at Ohio State University's Farm Science Review.
The garden, located off Friday Avenue on the grounds of the Molly Caren Agricultural Center in London, Ohio, is once again spotlighting "Millin', Chillin' and Grillin" -- an event that emphasizes gardening through the joy of what Utzinger offers and the expertise of the horticulturists that maintain it.
"The idea of ‘Millin, Chillin, and Grillin' is to learn about plants and gardening techniques while taking the time to enjoy the garden with family and friends," said Pam Bennett, Ohio State University Extension statewide Master Gardener coordinator. "Last year's event was so popular we decided to bring it back."
Millin', Chillin' and Grillin' will be held Sept. 18-20 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day. The Millin' portion of the event will be held Sept. 18 and will feature horticulturists from Ohio State University and Master Gardener volunteers who will be on-hand to answer visitor questions on gardening, insect and disease issues and other plant-related information from perennials to lawn care to fruits and vegetables.
The Chillin' portion of the event will be held Sept. 19 and will give visitors the opportunity to relax in Utzinger Garden while enjoying music performed throughout the day by area musicians. Media personalities will also be on-hand during the day to meet and greet visitors.
Radio and TV personality Ron Wilson, whose program "In the Garden with Ron Wilson" is broadcast on over 30 radio stations across the country, will be participating in the Utzinger Garden program. Wilson, an Ohio State University horticulture graduate, has been working in the green industry for nearly four decades. Wilson will be visiting Utzinger Garden from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Sept. 19.
