WOOSTER, Ohio -- Secrest Arboretum’s 19th annual Plant Discovery Day, featuring sales and auctions of plants and art, is Saturday, May 5, at the Ohio Agricultural Research and Development Center, 1680 Madison Ave., in Wooster. The arboretum is part of the center.
Among the offerings will be trees, shrubs, herbs, annuals and perennials, with an emphasis on unusual types. The art will be for the home or landscape. There will be a bug zoo for kids and guided walks in the arboretum.
Hours are 9 a.m.-3 p.m. at the center’s Fisher Auditorium. Admission is free and open to the public. Lunch will be sold on the grounds.
Proceeds from the sales and auctions will benefit the arboretum, which continues recovering from a 2010 tornado strike.
