Four-Season High Tunnel Workshop Offered

BELLVILLE, Ohio – Farmers, vegetable producers and other individuals interested in expanding high tunnel production have the opportunity to attend a "Four-Season High Tunnel Workshop" on Dec. 14 in Bellville, Ohio.

 

The workshop will take place from 8:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. at the Dutch Heritage Restaurant, 720 St. Rte. 97 West, Bellville, Ohio. Registration is $25 per person and $20 per additional registrants from the same operation or family. The fee includes lunch and refreshments.

The hands-on interactive program will cover aspects of spring to fall and fall to spring high tunnel vegetable production, addressing such topics as farm impacts, resources needed to make four-season production work, and changes in soils, pests and diseases. In addition, participants will have the opportunity to help set the goals of research and extension activities intended to minimize the challenges associated with four-season high tunnel vegetable production.

The workshop is sponsored by Ohio State University Extension, the Ohio Agricultural Research and Development Center, the Great Lakes Vegetable Working Group, Ohio State University Integrated Pest Management Program, and Allied Vegetable Industries.
