COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Managers and vendors seeking the tricks of the trade in keeping a farmers' market profitable have the opportunity to attend a series of workshops during the Ohio Direct Agricultural Marketing Association Conference.
The conference will be held Jan. 14-17 at the Greater Columbus Convention Center, in Columbus, Ohio, in conjunction with the Ohio Fruit and Vegetable Growers Congress. The farmers' market workshops will take place from 9 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. on Jan. 16.
"Marketing Results for Farmers' Market Managers" will take place from 9 a.m. until noon, and will cover the challenges of managing a farmers' market. Secrets of success will be unveiled by representatives from a variety of organizations.
"Market Where the Money Is" will be held from 1:30 p.m. to 3 p.m., and will highlight the successes of Indiana vegetable grower Chuck Mohler. Mohler sells fresh produce through seven satellite markets, and will discuss how he profits from his market-driven production and promotions.
"Marketing Results for Farmers' Market Vendors" will take place from 3 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., and will showcase what is needed to make the most of a farmers' market.
