FINDLAY, Ohio -- Establishing and managing pastures and hay fields for horses is the focus of an upcoming Ohio State University Extension field day.
The Forages for Horses Field Day will be held August 18 at 6:30 p.m. at the Center for Equine and PreVeterinary Studies at the University of Findlay in Findlay, Ohio. The field day is free and open to the public.
Topics of interest include grass hay and pasture species selection and management, horse grazing research, converting mud lots to effective paddock areas and managing pastures amid changing weather patterns. OSU Extension specialists, along with industry professionals will be on-hand to present the topics.
A trade show is also part of the field day, which will feature exhibits on feeds, fencing materials, equipment and supplies.
