Corn Harvest Winding Down, Yields Better Than Expected |
COLUMBUS, Ohio – As farmers near completion of the 2011 harvest, Ohio State University corn extension specialist Peter Thomison said that despite major weather challenges at planting and harvest, yields were largely better than expected across much of Ohio.

Late Planted Soybeans Mean Aphids in August |
WOOSTER, Ohio – Because farmers across the Corn Belt planted crops later than normal this season, scouting for soybean aphids might seem later than normal, according to one Ohio State University Extension entomologist. Even so, the aphids’ appearance is right on schedule, agronomically speaking.
